Hello Her Haven Family, We are excited to share what we’ve been up to the past couple of months!  We have seen over 120 clients and children since January of this year.  Each month the clients increase.  The past two weeks we’ve had 7 calls seeking shelter.  The past couple of months we’ve been able to help, with the community’s support, pay a clients rent and some of her electric bill due to a domestic violence situation, clothe multiple children, provide food and gas gift cards for a mom who has very little in her pantry but is working a full-time job an hour away because the pay is better than her hometown.  We’ve helped a client obtain a car so she can begin working again, counseling, employment, secure housing and so much more! We started our Trauma Support Group back and it’s been a blessing to gather around the table again, working on our trauma together.  We have a good mix of clients and volunteers.  The volunteers attending are going through it themselves but also learning how to operate it so they can lead one in addition to trauma.  Our goal is to have multiple Support Groups with different topics, nights and weekends so it can offer availability to those who are unable to attend during the day.    Join us for our Annual Fundraising Banquet at Oxbow Estates on November 15th at 6:00pm!  Tickets are now live.  We encourage you to register for this event and invite your friends and family to attend.  It’s an adult only banquet.  Tickets are free this year, with the option to give a monetary donation.  It’s a black-tie event so dress up and come out to support an amazing cause!  RSVP here: Tickets for Her Haven Formal Fundraising Banquet in Clayton from TicketLeap Tickets Include: Catered Meal by Sheryl’s Catering, who has been with us since our first banquet. What else have we been up to?   We had the opportunity to attend church at Generation this past Sunday for their Local Partner Day.  We made a lot of connections and had 9 women sign up to volunteer with us.  Generation also sent out their men’s group to cut our grass, trim the bushes and wash our bus and that was a huge blessing!   Phase II of the bus renovation has been completed and we now have hardwood floors on the bus!  A huge shoutout to Atlantic Flooring Design Centers for donating their services to us, we are so grateful for the continued support. The final phase will take place next week.  It’s all coming together, and we are anticipating the completion of it.  Although it isn’t finished, we have already hosted two pop-up events at Thanks-A-Latte in Angier and Ziggi’s Coffee in Clayton along with a Formula Giveaway Outreach. We have really enjoyed going out into the community!  ALL proceeds made will go back to providing women and their children a safe place to land to get the resources they need. We are excited for our next outreach event which will be a back-to-school event, called Stash the Class. Stash the Class Outreach will be on Thursday, August 15th from 5:00pm-6:30pm at Her Haven of Light.  We are currently hosting a drive to stock the teacher’s classroom’s, all items need to be turned in by Monday, August 12th.  If you’d like to help us gather these items for the teachers in our community, you can do so by purchasing the following items and placing them in a reusable bag so they can come pick it up along with a teacher related t-shirt we have for them.   As each year passes and more people find out about us, the number of clients increase. This year, we have a few goals we would like to accomplish so that we can make sure we are secure in being able to offer resources to women and children.   1. Grant Approvals 2. Secure Land and Begin Building Haven House, our Transitional Housing 3. Dedicated Volunteers 4. Monthly Pledgers 5. Support Group Leaders 6. Successful Fundraisers 7. Monthly Outreach Our goal is to have $10,000 coming in each month to make sure that each client’s basic immediate needs are taken care of.  This sounds like a lot of money but when you’re seeing over 150 in one year, it adds up quickly and every client has a different need and situation.  We also take care of their children if they have any.  $10,000/month would bring in $120,000 for the entire year.  We are in need of monthly donors, yearly donors and monetary donations of any amount.  We have broken it down to share what would be beneficial to the clients at Her Haven. 10 Monthly Pledgers for $200 15 Monthly Pledgers for $100 20 Monthly Pledgers for $75 40 Monthly Pledgers for $50 80 Monthly Pledgers for $25 100 Monthly Pledgers for $5 If you feel led to become a Monthly Pledger, Yearly Pledger or give a Monetary Donation, you can do so by going to the link below.  All proceeds will be a tax write-off for the end of the year, and we will be able to supply a letter if needed then for your records.   All checks can be made payable to Her Haven of Light, Inc.  We ask that they be sent to 545 East Main St. Clayton, NC 27520.  OR you can give a onetime  pledge or become a monthly Her Haven Partner via this link.  https://www.myegiving.com/app/giving/herhaven We are still in need of land!  We have a builder who wants to build and donate a home for our transitional housing as well as someone who wants to purchase the land for us!  We are currently searching for 1-2 acres of land, preferably from a private owner in Johnston County.  If you know of anyone, please send us their contact information or send them ours!   We are always in need of volunteers as we host many events and need help in and outside of office.  If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, please reach out to us for a volunteer application and we will email that over.  Or you can visit our website and fill it out there.   As always, thank you so much for your prayers, support, referrals, item and financial donations.  We are so excited to see what the future of Her Haven holds!
